History and Mission

DONAKO -  it is 60 years of tradition, experience and high technical culture.

In 1947 Lower Silesian Electrical Machines Production Plants M-5 were established. They were located at the site of the former Linke-Hoffman Werke and Famo Werke factories. In 1990, as a result of Poland’s transition into a free market economy, two companies were created: ABB Dolmel Ltd and ABB Dolmel Drives Ltd. Donako was formed in 1995 as a subsidiary company of ABB Dolmel Drives Ltd.

In 2000 PETT&PETT Industrie Consulting GmbH purchased all shares owned by ABB Dolmel Drives Ltd. The name of the company was changed to PETT&PETT Donako Sp. z o.o.

In 2006 70% of the company shares was bought by Innova Capital Fund. Since 2007 we have been carrying on business as a joint stock company - DONAKO S.A.

For us tradition is not only a matter of pride but also a reason to strive for excellence. Production of electrical machine components, active iron units for stators and rotors, special tooling, welded constructions, stators and rotors stacking, mechanic processing and engineering services are a substantial part of what we offer. The uniqueness of our products and services can be confirmed by our clients and business partners. Our vitality and energy, combined with an awareness of the need to invest in technical development, particularly in wind and water power sector, ensure our customers’ expectations are fully fulfilled.

We currently employ nearly 400 people and we are still looking to expand our team. We fully support all our staff in their career development.

People, means, resources and production capacity- all these elements show the local strength of DONAKO. At the same time we are expanding in the global market. That’s where 90% of our business transactions take place. Our products are used by the world’s biggest electrical machines manufacturers.
